Loyalty vs Betrayal
The issues of loyalty and betrayal are largely explored through the character Jasmine, whose loyalty is often taken advantage of by Elena. Throughout the play, Jasmine struggles to let go of her devotion to her best friend, even when she is betrayed.
Truth vs Lies
There is a strong dichotomy between the lies that Elena and BB tell over the course of the play and the truths that they attempt to cover up.

Natural vs the Supernatural
The existence of a supernatural character such as BB creates tension between the observable or "real" world and the more paranormal elements found within the play.

Topics Addressed in Sororophobia

Female Relationships
Sororophobia features an almost entirely female cast of characters; therefore, it is only natural that the nature of female relationships and how women interact with each other is one of the central topics of the play. In fact, it is so central to the play that the concept even became its title!

Queer Identity
As a "coming of age" show, one of the biggest themes of Sororophobia is the discovery of sexuality and identity. Several characters embark on this journey of self-discovery over the course of the play and learn to embrace the parts of themselves that they thought they had to hide.
