About the Playwright
Laney Lynch is a senior Acting major at Elon University. She is the true embodiment of a multi-hyphenate artist: actor, playwright, makeup designer, and more! Her previous works include Cardboard Boxes, a play that explores college students' experiences as they learn to be true to themselves,. She has also written Mermaids, But They're Drowning?, a short play about teenage mermaids.

Lynch has stated that she aims to write relatable theatre with contemporary and realistic dialogue and to "...freshen up the idea of what it means to grow up in the era of technology".

Besides writing, she has recently designed hair and makeup for Elon University's production of As You Like It. She also designed makeup and performed in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, also at Elon University.
Production History
Sororophobia was first written for Elon University's Queer Arts Festival in February 2024 as a staged reading.

The playwright's alma mater, Holland Public Schools in Holland, Michigan produced a workshop production in February 2025.
​
This is the world premiere of Sororophobia as a fully fledged production, and we hope you enjoy the show!
