Meet the Characters

Elena
If the girls at the sleepover are a bee colony, then Elena is certainly the queen. Always the center of attention, she isn’t just the leader of her friend group, but also the glue that holds them together. On the outside, Elena seems perfect (if a little high strung), but on the inside, she’s falling apart. Elena’s medical condition keeps her from participating in many activities, but hopefully, things will be changing soon…
Jasmine
Jasmine is a girl who believes in quality over quantity when it comes to her friends. Almost loyal to a fault, she will be by her friends’ side until the very end. She can be sassy at times and is never afraid to speak her mind. But at the end of the day, Jasmine is still struggling to discover who she really is.
Melanie
From the outside, Melanie looks like any other “chill girl”. She’s simple; she goes with the flow. She doesn’t care about the small things. But deep down, Melanie’s psyche is full of conflict. She loves her friends, of course – but she’s also envious of them. Especially one friend in particular. While this jealousy doesn’t show itself to others, it lies simmering inside Melanie, just waiting to be revealed. Once she removes her inhibitions, maybe she’ll finally be ready to show everyone how she really feels.
Emma
Emma is, above all else, a Very Nice Girl™. A parental favorite, she is the youngest and most innocent out of all the girls. Emma hails from a pious family, which, in combination with her voracious reading habits, has led to her having an extensive knowledge of all things religious. Being homeschooled, Emma hasn’t had very many interactions with girls her age, making her somewhat awkward in social settings. She strives to be accepted by the other girls, but she often overcompensates, which can have the opposite effect. However, Emma has a big heart, and if you give her a chance, she’ll show you just how capable she really is.
Laura
Laura is a tomboy — fierce, direct, and resilient. Out of all the girls, she’s the one who is the most secure in her identity. She is confident, with a thick skin that she’s developed as a result of a turbulent home life. Laura values intelligence above all else and equates knowledge with power. Despite being a member of her school’s Gifted & Talented Program, people often underestimate her intelligence due to her brashness.
